Buffalo Hunting In Africa

Many hunters and PH's consider the buffalo to be the most dangerous big game animal in Africa. The buffalo will continue to charge in spite of a gun shot wound. He is often very aggressive and will charge without being provoked.
When he charges he is very hard to stop, he presents his heavy boss to the hunter and only a very heavy caliber bullet will stop him.
If he knocks a hunter down, he will almost always come back to gore and stomp his victim. Also, the buffalo, is an aggressive adversary. He will circle and stand facing the hunter in thick cover, waiting to ambush the hunter. This is particularly true of a wounded buffalo that knows he can go no further.
Unlike other big game, a buffalo can see, hear and scent very well. This makes for a terrible combination.
